Tigers Finish Fifth at NCAC Championships

Oberlin, Ohio - Paced by honorable mention all-conference performances from Meghan Hennessey and Haley Thompson, DePauw totaled 117 points and finished fifth among the eight schools competing at the North Coast Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships.

Allegheny won with 31 points followed by Oberlin with 37, Kenyon 71 and Ohio Wesleyan 106. Linnea Halsten of Oberlin was the individual winner in 21:23.3.

Hennessey led the Tigers with a 15th-place finish in 23:08.6, while Thompson was 20th in 23:17.8.

Sarah Selzer came in 24th (23:19.9) followed by Natalie Gruszka in 30th (23:32.9), Tori Flowers in 33rd (23:37.3), Riley Hickman in 52nd (24:27.7) and Andrea Nunez-Garcia in 59th (24:46.1).

"I am very proud of our women's team," DePauw head coach Kori Stoffregen said.

"They overcame several obstacles this year and pulled together for a solid race. I know they have more in the tank for regionals."

DePauw returns to the course on Saturday, November 11, at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional in Powell, Ohio.
