Gambier, Ohio- The DePauw University volleyball team extends its win streak to two and improve to 4-1 in the NCAC with its sweep over Kenyon College.
In set one the Tigers recorded a whopping .600 hitting percentage, tallying 15 kills and no errors in the set. Such dominance was well reflected in the final set score of 25-15.
In the second set, the Ladies came back with more energy and precision. Unlike set one, the Tigers recorded eight errors and allowed Kenyon within three throughout the set. Despite a more contested set, DePauw remained calm and came out on top with the second set ending with a score of 25-21.
The third set swung early in favor of Kenyon; however, the Tigers hit its way back into the set to eventually tying it at 21. Though the Tigers were back in the set, the Ladies maintained its lead until the score tilted in favor of DePauw, 28-29. Up by one point, thanks to a kill by Morgan Stearley, libero Jenna Purichia stepped up to the line and put the match away with a powerful service ace to take the set 30-28.
The Tigers return to Greencastle, Ind. on Saturday, Oct. 19 for Senior Day against Oberlin College. Match time is set for 1 p.m.
