Sept. 29, 2019 (Meadville, Pa.)- The DePauw University volleyball team cleaned up its weekend of NCAC play with its second sweep, in two days, over the Allegheny College Gators (25-19, 25-14, 25-19).
The Tigers jumped ahead to an early 8-1 lead in the set and maintained its lead throughout. Though the Gators cut the lead to four, DePauw's attacking efforts were just too much for Allegheny to handle.
In the second set, the Gators managed to answer the Tigers' attacking efforts throughout the beginning of the set until DePauw went on a hitting streak. Closing out the set with a string of five kills and two service aces, the Tigers bolstered a .306 hitting percentage for the set.
The third and final set of the match played out similarly to the first set. With a lower than average hitting percentage and six errors, the Tigers still came up on top 25-19 to sweep the Gators in three.
DePauw is back at home on Wednesday, Oct. 2 to face Denison University. The match is set for 7 p.m. at Neal Fieldhouse.
