Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw extended its record to 6-4 after sweeping Elmhurst 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-21) and Alma 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-16) and finishing 3-1 at this weekend's DePauw Tigers Invitational.
DePauw outhit the Bluejays, .237-.122 with Elmhurst totaling 42 kills to the Tigers' 38. Grace Filbrun assisted on 16 of those kills.
In the Alma match, the Tigers won the opening two sets, but had to battle back from a 19-17 deficit in the second with an 8-4 run keyed by Stearley's five kills. DePauw jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the final set and held the advantage the rest of the way.
Stearley led the Tigers with 16 kills and Jessica Levy followed with 11. Fibrun led with 24 assists and two aces. Purichia and Filbrun led the defensive effort with 11 and 10 digs, respectively, with Delaney Bell topping the team with three block assists.
DePauw outhit the Scots, .298-.101 and held a 48-26 edge in kills.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday, September 21, when they host Hanover at 1 p.m. and Muskingum at 3 p.m.
