DePauw Splits Final Two Matches at Crossover

Lansing, Mich. - DePauw moved to 3-2 on the season after splitting its two Saturday matches at the NCAC/MIAA Crossover. The Tigers blanked Albion 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-17) before second-ranked Calvin defeated DePauw 3-0 (25-18, 25-14, 25-22).

In the opening match, DePauw hit .229 to Albion's .046, while also having a 42-28 edge in kills.

Morgan Stearley paced the Tigers with 14 kills and hit .324, while Grace Filbrun had 18 assists and Jenna Purichia 14 digs. Purichia and Stearley each had two service aces.

In the Calvin match, both teams hit well in the opening set as the Knights were at .471 to DePauw's .303, but DePauw hit just -.125 in the second set as the Knights grabbed a 2-0 lead. The Tigers held a 22-21 lead in the third set, but Calvin rattled off four straight points for the win.

Stearley hit .158 for the match and led the Tigers with seven kills. Allie Frymire topped the squad with 13 assists and  Purichia had eight digs. 

For the match, the Knights hit .333 to the Tigers' .125.
