Tigers Top Denison in NCAC Opener

Granville, Ohio - Visiting DePauw dropped a tight first set by a 25-23 score, but came back with three straight 25-19 wins in the next three for a 3-1 win over Denison in the opening North Coast Athletic Conference match for both schools. DePauw improved to 7-7 overall with its fifth win in the last six matches, while the Big Red dropped to 5-6.

Liv Hartman recorded 24 kills and a .375 hitting percentage in the Tigers' win as DePauw outhit Denison .287-.202 and held a 64-49 edge in kills.

Grace Filbrun assisted on 51 of the 64 kills, while Morgan Stearley added 14 kills and a team-high 25 digs. Jenna Purichia chipped in 20 digs as the Tigers held a 92-82 edge for the match.

DePauw also recorded 11 service aces as Kaylee Nichols and Stearley each had three, while Sarah Herman and Meaghan Etling each added a pair. Etling led the Tigers with two block assists.

The Tigers return to action on Wednesday, September 26, when they host Franklin at 7 p.m.
