Decatur, Ill. - DePauw moved to 9-5 on the season following a 3-0 win at 12th-ranked Millikin. The Big Blue dropped to 12-4. In a tight match throughout, the Tigers won by scores of 25-23, 27-25, 25-20.
In the opening set, DePauw fell behind by as many as five points at 20-15, but battled back to win nine of the next 11 points to grab a 24-22 lead. In set two, the Big Blue scored the first six points and still held a 14-8 advantage before the Tigers scored the next 10 for an 18-14 lead. The hosts had match point at 24-22, but a service error gave the ball back to the Tigers who scored five of the final six points of the set. DePauw fell behind, 4-3, in the third set but put together a 5-1 run to take the lead for good.
Suzanne Peters paced the Tigers with 16 kills with Liv Hartman adding 13. Hartman hit .370 with Peters at .314. Keegan Kollias assisted on 36 of DePauw's 49 kills, while Peters had two of DePauw's four aces. Kaley Keating spearheaded the defensive effort with 14 digs, while Meaghan Etling had six blocks (1 solo, 5 assists).
Alora Goodey place Millikin with nine kills, while Emily Mihalkanin had 18 assists and four of the team's eight aces. Meredith Artime had 13 digs with Maddi Holland chipping in four blocks (1 solo, 3 assists).
The Tigers host Wooster in a North Coast Athletic Conference match on Saturday, September 30 at 1 p.m.
