Delaware, Ohio - In the final match before the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships, 34th-ranked DePauw defeated Ohio Wesleyan, 8-1. The Tigers improved to 9-11 overall and 2-1 in NCAC West play, while the Battling Bishops dropped to 3-15 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
The top doubles team of Megan Galle and Sarah Wilder were 8-2 winners over Lauren Corcoran and Sydney Simmons, while Emma Love and Colleen Morris topped Ale Coronel-Zegarra and Ruthie Silberman by an 8-3 count at the second spot. Erin Friedrich and Amanda Showalter blanked Rachel Forrest and Meryl Reams, 8-0.
In singles play, Showalter was a 6-1, 6-2 victor over Coronel-Zegarra at the second position with Morris topping Reams 6-0, 6-4 at third singles. At the fourth spot, Love defeated Simmons 6-4, 6-0 with Lily Cameron taking a 6-2, 6-0 win over Silberman at fifth singles and Friedrich defeating Forrest by a 6-0, 6-1 score at the sixth spot.
The Tigers return to action on Friday, April 26, in the opening round of the NCAC Championships at North Central High School in Indianapolis.
