Springfield, Ohio - DePauw opened North Coast Athletic Conference West Division play with a 9-0 win over Wittenberg. The 34th-ranked Tigers improved to 8-10 overall, while Wittenberg dropped to 8-6 overall and 0-3 in NCAC West play.
The Tigers lost just three games in doubles with the number-one team of Megan Galle and Sarah Wilder defeating Sarah Gallup and Harunya Ravindran by an 8-2 score and the second team of Emma Love and Colleen Morris blanking Carli Milano and Alivia Livesay, 8-0. The third double team of Erin Friedrich and Amanda Showalter were 8-1 winners over Kathleen McGuff and Sarah Wilke.
DePauw dropped only eight games in singles play in taking all six matches in straight sets. At first singles, Galle topped Milano 6-1, 6-2, while Showalter defeated Gallup 6-0, 6-0 at the second spot and Morris taking a 6-1, 6-0 win over Livesay at third singles.
Lover beat Ravindran at fourth singles by a 6-1, 6-0 score, while Wilder won over Wilke at fifth singles by a 6-0, 6-2 score. At sixth singles, Ali Bush defeated McGuff 6-1, 6-0.
DePaue travels to 26th-ranked Denison tomorrow.
