DePauw Battles 13th-ranked Bears before Falling 5-4

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw won two of the three doubles matches with the other going to a tiebreaker, but 13th-ranked WashU came back to win four of the six singles matches for a 5-4 victory over the Tigers. DePauw dropped to 0-2, while the Bears moved to 1-0.

Megan Galle and Sarah Wilder picked up an 8-4 win at first doubles over Ally Persky and Divya Sharma, while Amanda Showalter and Erin Friedrich were 8-3 victors at third doubles over Grace Hederick and Laurel Wanger. WashU's second doubles tandem of Sanja Tripathy and Lisa Chionis picked up a narrow 8-7 (7-5) win over DePauw's Colleen Morris and Emma Love.

DePauw's singles wins came from Showalter at the number-four spot by a 7-5, 6-1 score over Hederick and from Wilder at the fifth spot over Stephanie Ren 7-5, 6-2.

The Tigers return to action on Wednesday, Fabruary 13, when they host Division II Indianapolis at 4:30 p.m.
