Tigers Drop Fifth Place Match of Invitational

Madison, Wisc. -- DePauw lost the fifth place match of the Midwest Invitational on Saturday, falling to Wisconsin-Whitewater 7-2.

Amanda Showalter won both her matches. She teamed with Meredith Breda for an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles, and she won at No. 5 singles 6-1, 0-6, 1-0 (10-5).

The No. 1 and No. 2 doubles teams each lost by a score of 8-4. At No. 2 singles, Megan Galle lost 6-7 (1-7), 6-1, 1-0 (10-2). The rest fell in straight sets.

DePauw drops to 4-10 overall, while Wisconsin-Whitewater improved to 15-4. The Tigers host Wittenberg in an NCAC match on Friday.
