DePauw Clashes with Division I Illinois State

Greencastle, Ind. -- The DePauw women's tennis team dropped to 1-3 on the year after an 8-1 defeat to Division I Illinois State on Friday.

DePauw's lone win came by default at No. 6 singles as Megan Galle was awarded the victory. The rest of the matches finished in straight sets.

At No. 1 singles Alyssa Seneviratne lost 6-3, 6-3; at No. 2 singles Colleen Morris fell 7-5, 6-1; at No. 3 singles Ali Bush lost 6-1, 6-2; at No. 4 singles Meredith Breda fell 6-1, 6-4; and at No. 5 singles Amanda Showalter lost 6-0, 6-1.

In doubles, the No. 2 team of Galle and Sarah Wilder as well as the No. 3 team of Morris and Bush fell 8-6 in hard fought contests. At No. 1, Seneviratne and Breda fell 8-1.

The Tigers remain home for their next match at 10 a.m. Saturday against Gustavus Adolphus.
