Gambier, Ohio - DePauw, ranked 23rd in Division III, claimed third place at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championship following a 5-3 win over 40th-ranked Oberlin. The Tigers improved to 11-11, while the Yeowomen dropped to 13-11.
Oberlin took a 1-0 lead as the second doubles team of Jackie McDermott and Mayada Audeh topped Alyssa Seneviratne and Ali Bush by an 8-5 score. DePauw's number-one tandem of Maddie Lee and Gretchen Wilder were 8-4 winners over Sarah Huges and Emma Brezel before the Tigers' third doubles team of Colleen Morris and Megan Galle topped Ariana Abayomi and Erin Johnson, 8-6, to give DePauw a 2-1 lead.
The Yeowomen evened the score at 2-2 as Hughes defeated Seneviratne 6-1, 3-6, 6-0 at second singles. Bush was a 7-5, 6-4 winner over Abayomi at fourth singles, but the lead was short-lived as Oberlin tied the match at third singles with Brezel defeating Wilder 6-2, 7-5.
Lee defeated Audeh 7-6 (7-2), 2-6, 6-1 at first singles to give the Tigers a 4-3 lead before Morris wrapped up the win at fifth singles with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Johnson.
