Tigers Silenced in 3-1 Loss to Fightin' Engineers

Sept. 24, 2019- The DePauw University women's soccer team could not find its rhythm at home, losing 3-1 to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.

In the first half, just eight shots on goal were tallied between the two teams. Following a quiet first half, Rose-Hulman made noise first scoring within five minutes of the second half.

The Fightin' Engineers senior forward Wells scored off a free kick attempt. Suddenly down by one DePauw picked up its heads and pushed the ball up the right side of the field to earn a corner.

Taking the corner kick, Alex Berkley, carefully placed the ball near the back left post to find the head of Zoie Obst, tying the game at 1.

Unfortunately for the Tigers, the speed of Rose-Hulman's Wells was too much for them to handle, and with just under 20 minutes of regulation found itself down by two more goals.

Despite increasing its attacking efforts, DePauw was unable to string along enough efforts to cut the lead in half, finishing the game down 3-1.
The Tigers are back at home for Family Weekend on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 2:30 p.m.
