Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw entertained 11th-ranked Centre today and battled the Colonels throughout before the guests took a 2-1 win over the Tigers at Reavis Stadium.
The teams fought through a tight first half, before a DePauw foul just inside the box with 10 seconds left in the half resulted in a penalty kick for Centre's Elizabeth Nelson. Nelson's shot to the far left side gave the Colonels a 1-0 lead.
The score remained that way until the 78th minute when Taylor Gebhart delivered a pass from the end line to Nelson who knocked it in from 12 yards out.
DePauw's lone goal came in the 82nd minute off the left foot of Allison Harvey whose original effort was blocked by a Centre defender and came back to Harvey in front of the goal area and she found the right side of the goal.
Centre held a 19-6 edge in shots including a 4-1 advantage in shots on goal.
DePauw travels to Franklin on Tuesday, September 10, for a 5 p.m. contest.
