The DePauw women's soccer team took 11 shots, six on goal, but could not get on the board in a 1-0 loss to Kenyon on Saturday.
The lone goal from Kenyon came right out of the gate at 1:18 when Maggie Smith scored from about 30 yards out on a ball that was just out of reach of DePauw keeper Riley Riordan.
Kenyon took just six shots as Riordan made three saves on the day. DePauw also took four corner kicks to Kenyon's one.
DePauw's best opportunity to tie it came with 1:30 left in regulation. A cross to Shaili Kumar in front of the net led her just a little too far as the ball rolled out of bounds and the Tigers' chances faded.
DePauw drops to 5-4-1 overall and 1-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. Kenyon is 4-5-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference.
The Tigers return to action next Saturday when they travel to Hiram.
