Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw and Allegheny battled evenly for over 78 minutes, but the visiting Gators scored the game's only goal at 78:41 and took a 1-0 victory over the Tigers at Reavis Stadium.
DePauw dropped to 4-7-2 overall and 2-2-2 in the North Coast Athletic Conference, while Allegheny improved to 12-5 overall and 5-1 in the conference.
The Tigers failed to clear a ball in front of their goal and Allegheny's Brianna Layman was there and scored into an empty net.
Allegheny outshot DePauw 10-6 and each team had four corners. DePauw's Sarah Cho recorded seven saves and Gabby Curtis had four in the shutout for the Gators.
DePauw returns to action on Tuesday, October 28, at Wittenberg.
