Greencastle, Ind. - Kenyon scored the game's first seven goals and sent DePauw to a 13-5 North Coast Athletic Conference defeat at Reavis Stadium. The Tigers dropped to 4-10 overall and 1-5 in NCAC play, while the Ladies improved to 13-2 overall and 6-0 in the conference.
Lucy Somers, Cassie Hudson-Heck and Maya Fair each scored two before Avery Morgan gave Kenyon a 7-0 lead with 14:09 left in the opening half. Grace Clarke stopped the run with 8:04 remaining in the half and the Ladies took an 8-1 lead into the intermission.
Kenyon's lead reach nine at 11-2 before DePauw scored three straight to close to within 11-5, but Kenyon wrapped up the contest with a pair of scores in the final six minutes.
Clarke led the Tigers with four goals, while Somers and Fair each had four for Kenyon. Somers and Brett Bearrows also assisted on two each.
Kathryn Hopkins recorded 15 saves for DePauw, while Kenyon's Carina Barnes stopped six DePauw shots.
The Ladies held a 36-13 advantage in shots and a 29-14 lead in ground balls. Kenyon also led in draw controls, 11-9, with DePauw committing 33 turnovers to Kenyon's 24.
Clarke led the Tigers with three draw controls, while Erica Rapelje, Tori Salanty, Maeve Sheehan and Caleigh Ranjo each had two ground balls. Sheehan also caused two turnovers. Maggie Grabowski had seven draw controls for Kenyon with Morgan scooping up five ground balls and Morgan causing four turnovers.
DePauw wraps up the home portion of its schedule on Wednesday, April 24, with a 7 p.m. contest against Ohio Wesleyan.
