Greencastle, Ind. - Visiting Mount Union set the tone with three goals in the opening 1:05 and sent DePauw to a 23-3 defeat on S. Page Cotton Field at Reavis Stadium. The Tigers dropped to 0-5, while the Purple Raiders remained undefeated at 3-0.
Mount Union held an 18-0 halftime lead and extended it to 23-0 before DePauw closed the game with three scores.
Alyssa Rydell and Danielle Rohrman each scored five for Mount Union with Ashley Bernardi assisting on four and Rydell three.
Rohrman paced the Purple Raiders with nine draw controls, while Britt Klosterman and Grace Peterson each had three ground balls. Mimi Curtis stopped one first-half shot with Sabrina Kelly recording two saves in the second half.
Mount Union held a 36-8 edge in shots and 18-9 in ground balls. The Purple Raiders won 22 of 28 draws and committed 16 turnovers to DePauw's 23.
DePauw returns to action on Saturday, March 17, with an 11:30 a.m. North Coast Athletic Conference contest against Allegheny.
