DePauw Falls to Centre

Danville, Ky. - Host Centre scored the game's first four goals and the Tigers were never able to catch up as the Colonels topped DePauw, 15-4. DePauw dropped to 0-2 on the season, while Centre mvoed to 2-1.

Centre grabbed a 4-0 lead in the opening 14 minutes before Sophie Hensley scored twice in a three-minute span to cut the margin to 4-2. The Colonels capped off the half with six straight to grab a 10-2 halftime lead.

The hosts extended the lead to 14-2 before the Tigers' Sarah Ramsey and Rachel Allen added scores.

The Colonels outshot DePauw, 38-12, including 28-10 on goal. The Colonels also held a 29-13 edge in ground balls and won 17 of the 21 draws. DePauw committed 27 turnovers to Centre's 18. 

Hensley paced DePauw with a pair of goals, while Haden Gibbons had five for Centre along with four assists. Hannah Bellamah added four goals.

Kathryn Hopkins recorded 13 saves for the Tigers with Natalie Marek stopping six for Centre.

DePauw returns to action on March 3 with a 1 p.m. home contest against North Central.
