DePauw's First Winning Season Ends in Defeat at Oberlin

Oberlin, Ohio - DePauw and host Oberlin battled through the rain with the Yeowomen handing the Tigers a 19-8 North Coast Athletic Conference defeat. The Tigers concluded their first winning season with a 7-6 overall mark to also match the program record for wins in a season. DePauw was 3-5 in NCAC contests. Oberlin heads to the NCAC Tournament with a 13-1 overall record and 7-1 NCAC mark.

Oberlin scored just 29 seconds into the contest before DePauw's Kate Flynn evened the contest with 25:13 left in the half on an assist from Sydney Blake.

Four goals in five minutes gave the Yeowomen a 5-1 advantage before Emma Flynn stopped the run at the 16:00 mark. Oberlin scored twice in 25 seconds for a 7-2 lead. The Tigers fought back with goals from Nicole Gibson and Summer Asad within a minute of one another, but Oberlin responded with five straight for a 12-4 lead. 

DePauw scored two of the final three goals of the half to trim the halftime deficit to 13-6, but Oberlin outscored the Tigers 6-2 in the second half to secure the win.

Seven different Tigers scored led by Kate Flynn's two goals. Nicole Gibson and Emily Scinta each assisted on two. Maddie Allen reocrded 12 saves in goal.

Maggie Mullard led Oberlin with five goals wtih Sara Phister, Eliza Amber and Maureen Coffey each totaling four. Amber also assisted on a team-high three. 

Oberlin outshot the Tigers 38-22 and held a 22-18 edge in ground balls. Erica Rapelje paced DePauw with three ground balls and Amber totaled five for the Yeowomen. Oberlin dominated the draw controls, 24-4 with Amber pacing the hosts with eight.
