Tigers in Second after First Round of NCAA Championships

Houston, Texas - Fifth-ranked DePauw shot an opening-round 307 and is tied for second after the first of four rounds of the NCAA Division III Championships at Bay Oaks Country Club. The Tigers are tied with Methodist and are one stroke behind Redlands.

Larisa Luloff, the top ranked Division III golfer, paced the Tigers with a 75 and is tied for sixth which is four strokes behind leader Bailey Plourde of Centre. Rachele Miller and Tarinni Sameer Kakar followed with 77 to tie for 22nd. Luloff recorded one birdie and 13 pars with Miller finishing with nine pars and a pair of birdies. Kakar had two birdies and 11 pars and was one-under through the first 14 holes.

Anna Foley finished with a 78 that included one birdie and 12 pars, while Allison Miller had one birdie and seven pars and finished with an 84.

The 307 matches the best NCAA round in program history which previously was achieved in the second round of the 2012 Championships.

Second-round play takes place on Wednesday.
