Greencastle, Ind. - Sixteen players scored as 19th-ranked DePauw improved to 22-4 and advanced to the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament semifinals for the eighth time in as many years following a 73-40 quarterfinal win over Allegheny. The Gators ended their season at 6-19. DePauw faces Wittenberg at 5 p.m. on Friday in the first semifinal game with Denison and Ohio Wesleyan squaring off at 7 p.m.
DePauw scored the final five points of the opening quarter to take a 17-10 lead. The Tigers scored the first five points of the second quarter to push the lead to 22-10.
After Delaney Arbore hit a 3-pointer, DePauw scored the next 10 with to givr DePauw a 32-13. The Tigers took a 33-16 lead into the halftime before outscoring Allegheny, 22-9, in the third quarter for a 55-25 lead.
Sydney Kopp and Claire Keefe each scored 11 with Maya Shannon totaling six rebounds and Maya Howard dishing out four aasists. Arbore paced Allegheny with 15 students and Zoe Soilis added 10, while Tuffy Taylor grabbed eight rebounds.
DePauw shot 43.1 percent from the floor to Allegheny's 27.3 percent and held a 48-33 edge on the boards.
