Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw put the finishing touches on the North Coast Athletic Conference regular season title with a 75-56 win over visiting Wooster. The Tigers improved to 21-4 overall and 15-1 in the NCAC, while Wooster finished the season at 6-19 overall and 2-14 in the conference.
The day was extra special for Maya Howard who was recognized prior to tipoff as DePauw's lone senior. Then, with 3:58 left in the first quarter, she sank the first of two free throws and surpassed Savannah Trees (2011-15) as the all-time leading scorer, eclipsing her mark of 1,480 points.
The Tigers got out to a 12-2 lead in the opening 3:05 of the contest before heading to the quarter break with a 27-14 advantage. After holding a 39-25 halftime advantage, DePauw outscored the Fighting Scots, 23-7, in the third quarter to lead by 30.
Sydney Kopp led the Tigers with 17 points and became the 18th women's player in school history to score 1,000 points. Howard finished with 12 and a game-high five assists. Campebell Montgomery led the way with seven rebounds as DePauw held a narrow 38-36 edge in the boards.
Anna Gibbs led Wooster with 15 points, four assists and four steals. Kyle Croxton added 10 points and Sarah Rapacz grabbed five rebounds.
DePauw shot 46.3 percent for the game to Wooster's 31.3 percent.
The Tigers enter the NCAC Tournament as the top seed and host eighth-seed Allegheny on Tuesday, February 19, at 8 p.m.
