Tigers Complete Weekend Sweep with Win over Franklin

Greencastle, Ind. - Three DePauw pitchers combined on a three-hitter as the Tigers topped Franklin, 3-1. DePauw improved to 20-18, while the Grizzlies dropped to 24-9.

Franklin took a 1-0 lead in the first as Monica Collins led off with a bunt single, moved to second on Shelby Mager's grounder and scored when Natalie Weber delivered a two-out single down the left field line.

DePauw countered in the bottom of the first as Lauren Godden singled with two outs, moved to second on a wild pitch and came home on Jordyn Fera's single to right.

The Tigers grabbed a 3-1 lead in the third when Megan Montgomery led off with a single and scored on Liz Getz's triple. Getz then scored on Kaylyn Linder's squeeze bunt.

DePauw totaled eight hits with Fera collecting three and Montgomery adding two. Weber had two of Franklin's three hits.

Devin Pieper improved to 5-4 with the win, while Emma Baldwin picked up her third save. Olivia Paszek dropped to 15-2 with the loss.

The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, May 1, when they host Illinois Wesleyan in a 4 p.m. doubleheader.
