Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw wrapped up the North Coast Athletic Conference portion of its schedule with a doubleheader sweep of visiting Kenyon by scores of 12-4 and 2-0. The Tigers improved to 19-18 overall and finished NCAC play at 13-3, while Kenyon finished its season at 19-21 overall and 3-13 in the conference.
In the opener, DePauw scored five in the second, three in the fourth and four in the fifth for the victory shortened to five innings due to the run rule.
The Tigers totaled 12 hits in the win led by two each from Liz Getz, Kaylyn Linder, Lauren Godden, Megan Montgomery and Abey Bass. Getz and Godden each drove in three and Godden clubbed a two-run homer. Madi Maldonado paced Kenyon with two of its five hits.
In game two, the teams combined for just four hits and it came down to Breanna Young's two-run single in the fifth.
Montgomery, Alyssa Nowak and DeYoung each had one hit for the Tigers, while Lauren Graf collected Kenyon's lone hit - a fourth-inning single.
Baldwin improved to 8-8 with 11 strikeouts and just one walk, while Bandy collected her third save. Austen Whibley dropped to 2-6 with the loss.
DePauw hosts Franklin in a 1 p.m. single game tomorrow. The Tigers then host Illinois Wesleyan in a Tuesday doubleheader before competing in the NCAC Tournament starting on Friday.
