Wooster. Ohio - DePauw stayed perfect in North Coast Athletic Conference play following a doubleheader sweep of Hiram by scores of 12-1 and 11-0 in games played at Wooster. The Tigers moved to 8-14 overall and 4-0 in the NCAC, while the Terriers dropped to 7-11 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
In the opener, the Tigers made quick work of Hiram in scoring four in the first and seven in the second in a game that was shortened to five innings due to the eight-run rule.
Brooke Bandy improved to 1-0 with the five-hit, complete game, while Makenzie Dombrowski dropped to 3-4.
In game two, DePauw banged out 16 hits with 12 different Tigers collecting at least one on the way to the win. Linder led the Tigers with a 4-for-4 performance that included three RBI and she finished the day with a 6-for-6 showing at the plate. Jordyn Fera added two hits in the win.
Hiram's Kaitlyn Hager singled in the bottom of the first for the Terriers' lone hit until Giselle Bahena and Hager each singled in the seventh.
Devin Pieper tossed the two-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts to improve to 1-2. Chase Martinez suffered the loss and dropped to 1-3.
DePauw returns to action on April 7-8 when it competes in a tournament at Illinois Wesleyan. The Tigers' first game is set for 4:45 p.m. CDT on Saturday against Anderson.
