Tyler, Texas - DePauw wrapped up its weekend trip to Texas with a doubleheader against top-ranked Texas-Tyler and the Tigers found themselves on the short end of both games, 3-0 and 16-0. DePauw moved to 1-7 with the losses, while the Patriots improved to 19-2.
In the opener, the hosts took a 1-0 lead as Kaylee Prather led off with a walk, moved to second on Bianca Van Vierah's sacrifice bunt and scored on Cheyenne Thompson's single to right.
Lexi Ackroyd tripled with one out in the fourth and scored on Hannah Moore's sacrifice fly to center to make it 2-0. K.K. Stevens hit a two-out, solo homer in the fifth to round out the scoring.
Four different Tigers collected one hit apiece, while six different Patriots also had one hit each.
Alaina Kissinger improved to 10-0 with the shutout, while Brooke Bandy dropped to 0-4.
Lauren Godden's second-inning double was DePauw's only base runner in the nightcap, while the Patriots scored 13 in the opening inning on eight hits. They added three more runs in the third and ended the game in the fifth.
Texas-Tyler totaled 12 hits with Andrea Gonzales leading with three. Prather and Ackroyd had two apiece.
DePauw opens the home portion of its schedule on Saturday, March 18, with a Noon doubleheader against Franklin.
