Terre Haute, Ind. - DePauw was the top NCAA Division III finisher and 16th overall at Indiana State's John McNichols Invitational at the LaVern Gibson Course.
Zane Williams paced the Tigers by finishing the 8,000-meter course in 26:53 and in 91st place, while Trevor Hoftiezer was right behind in 26:54 followed by Michael Ocasek (27:07) and Aaron Worley (27:10). Rounding out the Tigers' top seven were Miles Main (27:38), Kyle Munz (27:40) and Callaway Bird (28:01).
"Our men were very excited for this race," DePauw head coach Kori Stoffregen said.
"Getting a chance to run against the best in Division 1 is really fun. We rested our top guys today and challenged the next group to step up. They did a great job."
Northern Arizona, the top-ranked team in NCAA Division I, won the meet with 31 points and Iowa State's Edwin Kurgat was the individual winner in 23:47.
DePauw returns to action in the Loyola Lakefront Invitationa in Chicago on Saturday, September 28.
