Christian and Henry Individual Titles Lead DePauw to Third Place after First Day of NCAC Championships

Gambier, Ohio - Paced by two individual titles, DePauw totaled 32 points and is in third place after the opening day of competition at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships. Wabash leads with 58 points and Oberlin is second with 38.

Paul Christian led three DePauw scorers in the 10,000 meters by winning in 31:32.91. Zane Williams was seventh (33:43.30) and Aaron Worley was eighth (33:45.89). Demarco Henry took the top spot in the discus (44.4m/145-8). A pair of Tigers also scored in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as Kyle Munz was fourth (9:36.92) and Spencer Miller fifth (9:43.83).

In Friday's prelims, Tigers qualified for finals in four events. Luke Patty posted the fourth-fastest time in both the 400 meters (50.09) and 200 meters (22.56). Callaway Bird was second in the 800 prelims (1:57.27), while Christian Bradford was fifth in the 400 meters (50.26) and Chase Wright sixth in the 100 (11.19).
