Three Firsts Key in DePauw's Third-Place Finish

Greencastle, Ind. - The Tigers posted firsts in three events and totaled 95 points to finish 3rd at the DePauw Indoor Invitational. Wabash won with 146 points and Rose-Hulman was second with 128.5.

Luke Patty won the 400 meters (50.76) with Callaway Bird also taking the top spot in the 800 meters (1:57.02).

DePauw came up big in the mile run as it totaled 17 points led by Spencer Miller's second-place finish (4:30.60), Michael Ocasek in third (4:31.64), Eric La Lux in seventh (4:41.16) and Miles Main in eighth (4:42.20).

Tigers took two of the top three spots in the 3,000 meters as Paul Christian was second (8:43.53) and Zach Batt finished third (8:45.07). Chase Wright was second in the 200 meters (22.94), while Patty finished fourth (23.06). Also finishing runner-up was Aaron Worley in the 5,000 meters (16:13.19).

Tyler Nemeth turned in a fifth in the pole vault (4.22m/13-10) with Wright finishing eighth in the 60 meters (7.28).

DePauw's 4x200 relay won in 1:32.89 and the 4x400 relay was second in 3:33.13.

On Friday evening, Batt competed at the Hoosier Hills Invitational hosted by Indiana University and placed fourth in the mile in 4:21.52.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday, February 16, when it hosts the DePauw Classic.
