Patty's School-Record 200 Meter Performance Leads DePauw to Second-Place Showing

Greencastle, Ind. - The Tigers picked up four individual wins and had another first in a relay to finish second with 134 points, just two behind Campbellsville's winning total of 136 at the Tiger Indoor Invitational at the Hollensteiner Track.

Luke Patty established a school record in the 200 meters in 22.89 seconds, while Zach Batt set a meet record in the mile in 4:23.52. Also picking up firsts were Paul Christian in the 3,000 meters (8:53.43) and Tyler Nemeth in the pole vault (4.20m/13-9.25).

Chase Wright was second in the 200 meters (23.09) and third in the 60 meters (7.24), while Jordan Dolph was fourth in the 200 (24.37) and David Linton fourth in the 60 meters (7.29).

Callawy Bird was second in the 800 meters (1:59.75) and third in the mile (4:29.63), while Zane Williams placed fourth in the mile (4:39.81) and Michael Ocasek did the same in the 800 (2:02.59). Spencer Miller was third in the 3,000 (8:56.15) and Aaron Worley was fourth (9:17.33).

The Tigers totaled nine points in the long jump with Luke Smith finishing second (6.13m/20-1.5) and Kamal Apatira sixth (5.85m/19-2.5). Smith was also sixth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.54). Jordan Dolph turned in a fourth in the high jump (1.73m/5-8), while Lucas Taylor was fifth in the weight throw (13.88m/45-6.5) and Luis Torres sixth in the 400 (56.33).

DePauw also won the 4x200 relay (1:35.11), was second in the distance medley (12:46.46) and third in the 4x400 (3:44.16).

The Tigers return to action on Saturday, February 9, when they host the DePauw Invitational at 11 a.m.
