Birmingham, Ala. - Paced by six top-three finishes, DePauw finished third at Birmingham-Southern's Hilltop Classic with 119 points. Alabama-Huntsville won with 258 and Birmingham-Southern second with 145.
DePauw's other second-place finish came from Nate Baker in the shot put (12.48m/40-11.5). Baker also scored in the hammer with a third (43.02m/141-2) and with a fifth in the discus (36.81m/120-9).
Lucas Taylor scored in a pair of field events with a third in the discus (38.98m/127-11) and a fifth in the hammer (40.87m/134-1), while Andrew Saunders was fourth in the hammer (41.63m/136-7) and eighth in the javelin (41.56m/136-4).
The Tigers picked up nine points in the 200 meters as Luke Patty was fourth (22.67), Chase Wright sixth (23.02) and Johnny Miller eighth (23.12). Patty was also fourth in the 400 (50.17) with Miller seventh (51.41), while Wright placed fifth in the 100 (11.20).
Tyler Nemeth turned in a fifth in the pole vault (4.40m/14-5.25) with Luis Torres fifth in the triple jump (11.87m/38-11.5) and Jarrod Stiver sixth in the long jump (6.11m/20-00.5). Nick Meszaros posted a sixth in the 5,000 in 16:02.73.
DePauw's 4 x 100 relay was second in 43.95 seconds and the 4 x 400 relay was third in 3:28.14.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, April 7, when they host the DePauw Invitational at Noon.
