DePauw Opens Outdoor Season with Second-Place Showing at Rose-Hulman

Terre Haute, Ind. - DePauw opened the outdoor portion of its schedule at the Rose-Hulman Early Bird and finished second with 99 points. Rose-Hulman won with 269.

Three Tigers collected wins including Samuel Voelz in the 800 meters (1:57.87), Luke Patty in the 200 meters (22.66) and Polo Burguete in the 5,000 meters (14:55.77). Patty also scored with a fifth in the 400 meters (50.70).

Jordan Booker was second in the 200 meters (22.94) and fourth in the 400 meters (50.58), while other runner-up performances came from Jacob Avenaim in the 100 meters (11.56) and Tyler Nemeth in the pole vault (4.43m/14-6.25).

Finishing third were Pierce Sheehan in the 800 meters (2:02.54) and Demarco Henry in the discus (43.88m/143-11), while Cole Martin was fourth in the 5,000 (15:07.40) as was Nate Baker in the hammer throw (45.07m/147-10).

Fifth-place showings came from Spencer Golde in the 1,500 meters (4:19.10) and Andrew Saunders in the javelin (41.57m/136-5), while Mason Motley was eighth in the javelin (39.42m/129-4).

DePauw's 4 x 400 relay was fifth in 3:34.19.

The Tigers return to action on March 30-31 at the Hilltop Classic at Birmingham-Southern.
