Five Firsts Highlight Tigers' Competition at Denison

Granville, Ohio - In the final meet prior to the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships, DePauw posted five firsts at the Denison Big Red Invitational which was shortened due to weather.

Nate Baker picked up a pair of firsts as he won the shot put (13.53m/44-4.75) and the hammer throw (47.42m/155-7) as well as finishing fifth in the discus (39.24m/128-9).

Demarco Henry won the discus (45.17m/148-2) with Lucas Taylor placing sixth (38.19m/125-3). The Tigers' other individual first came from Chase Wright in the 100 meters (11.37). Mohamed Gborie was fourth in the event (11.56) and David Linton eighth (11.78).

Placing second were Johnny Miller in the 400 meters (50.86) and Alex Rossebo in the 800 meters (2:01.46). Andrew Saunders was third in the hammer (44.55m/146-2) and sixth in the javelin (43.98/144-3), while Mason Motley was seventh in the javelin (41.55m/136-4) and Taylor eighth (37.33m/122-6).

Kamal Apatira was sixth in both the 110-meter hurdles (16.78) and the long jump (5.90m/19-4.25) as was Chris Lowry in the 1,500 meters (4:09.66).

The Tigers' 4x100 relay won in 43.33 seconds.
