Springfield, Ohio - DePauw opened North Coast Athletic Conference divisional play with a 7-2 win over Wittenberg. The Tigers moved to 7-8, while Wittenberg dropped to 9-7 overall and 0-3 in NCAC West play.
The Tigers swept the doubles competition as Greg Frauenheim and Bryce McClanahan defeated Martin Mora and Joe Patton by an 8-4 score at the top spot with Wyatt Metzger and Billy Louiselle taking an 8-6 victory over Gavin Tay and Timmy McNulty at second doubles. The third doubles tandem of Alex Bertolini and Will Sultan topped Nathan Baulch and Kieren Thomas, 8-1.
DePauw won four of the six singles matches as the Metzger defeated Tay at the number-two spot by a 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 score and McClanahan defeating Patton 6-3, 6-4 at number three. Louiselle was a 6-2, 6-0 victor over Thomas at fifth singles with Sultan defeating Baulch 6-1, 6-2 at sixth singles.
The Tigers return to the courts tomorrow at Denison in a 2 p.m. match.
