Tigers Start First Win Streak of 2018

Greencastle, Ind. – On Saturday DePauw scored a couple of 8-1 wins against Taylor and Hope to move to 3-9 on the season.

DePauw swept doubles play in both matches. Collecting both wins were the No. 1 doubles team of Greg Frauenheim and Bryce McClanahan, the No. 2 doubles team of Alex Bertolini and Matthew Quammen and the No. 3 team of Alex Pintilie and Sean Carroll.

Against Taylor, Frauenheim won at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-2; McClanahan won at the No. 2 slot 6-0, 6-1; Pintilie won at No. 3 6-2, 6-2; Bertolini fell at the No. 4 spot, 6-4, 0-6, 10-8; at No. 5 Quammen won 6-0, 6-2; and at No. 6 Michael Kolbus won 6-3, 6-2.

Against Hope (2-4) it was more of the same, but the Tigers prevailed in a number of close matches.

At No. 1 Frauenheim won 6-7 (4-7), 6-1, 10-5, and McClanahan took a 6-7 (3-7), 6-1, 10-6 match at the No. 2 position. At No. 3 Pintilie won 6-3, 6-2; Bertolini fell at No. 4 4-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7-3); at No. 5 Quammen won 6-1, 6-3; and at No. 6 Kolbus won 7-6 (7-1), 6-4.

Next, DePauw has an exhibition match against Indiana Wesleyan on March 21 before getting back into regular action at Sewanee on March 24.
