Pair of Tigers Collect Firsts in Loss at Indianapolis

Indianapolis, Ind. - DePauw dropped to 1-2 on the season following a 171-67 loss at University of Indianapolis.

A pair of Tigers posted individual wins as Charlie Stewart-Bates won the 1000-yard freestyle (10:06.89) and Aidan Schurig touched first in the 50 free (21.74).

DePauw posted several third-place finishes including: David Freund (1000 free, 10:17.28), Sam McManus (200 free, 1:45.59), Sam Wagner (50 free, 22.55), Alex Murlin (200 individual medley, 2:03.32), Ian Longan (100 butterfly, 54.88), Luke Thompson (100 backstroke, 56.39) and Adam Pircon (500 free, 4:52.77).

The Tigers' 200 free relay of McManus, Schurig, Wagner and Andrew Byerly was second in 1:27.29 and the 200 medley relay of Ryan Smith, McManus, Longan and Schurig placed fourth in 1:37.30.

The Tigers will take on Albright College in an exhibition meet on December 19 in Florida and return to regular action on Saturday, January 6, with a 5 p.m. meet at Indiana State.
