Meadville, Pa.- The DePauw University men's soccer team shutout the Allegheny College Gators 1-0, in its second to last NCAC matchup of the regular season.
The Tigers utilized its speed and strength to consistently switch the field and move into Gator territory in the opening minutes.
Outshooting Allegheny 7-1, and tallying five corners in the Tigers dominance around the Gators goalie box was clear and constant.
Though the Tigers were tied at the half 0-0, DePauw finally found the back of the net, just two minutes into the second, off an unassisted goal by Gustavo Kasmanas.
Down by one, the Gators were on the attack and managed to get off three shots and two corner kicks in the half.
Unfazed by Allegheny's pressure, the Tigers continued to play its game and closed out its opponents to improve to 10-6 overall and 4-3 in the NCAC. DePauw is back at home on Tuesday, Oct. 30, to face Wabash College. Game time is set for 7 pm.
