Sept. 3, 2019- The DePauw University Tigers came out ready to play in its home opener, shutting out Anderson University 11-0.
From the very beginning, DePauw showed its versatility and speed, out dribbling the Ravens on both the defensive and offensive end of the field. By controlling the ball throughout the match, the Tigers were able to work on its timing and passing options, resulting in the onslaught of goals.
Out shooting Anderson 34 to 5, DePauw was able to show its depth and ability to score, off a variety of play situations. Scoring five goals in the first half and the remaining six in the second half, nine different Tigers found the back of the net, in the 11-0 shutout. Amongst the nine scorers was DePauw senior forward Jay Klein, who finished the evening with the first hat trick of his career, playing a significant role in extending the Tigers record to 2-1 overall.
