Greencastle, Ind. - Carlos Martinez delivered his first collegiate goal and DePauw moved to 3-0 with a 1-0 win over visiting WashU. The Bears dropped to 0-3 with the defeat.
The game's lone goal came with 2:04 left in the first after Oliver Shebek dropped a long free kick into the box where Jack Schrepferman headed it straight to Martinez who knocked it in from 12 yards out.
That was one of just two shots on goal for the Tigers compared to six for the Bears as the guests held an overall edge of 11-4 in shots. Each team had five corners.
DePauw's Austin Bodner stopped six WashU shots including four in the second half, while Conner Mathes had one save for the Bears.
The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, September 11, when they host Franklin at 7:30 p.m.
