Julian Gonzalez scored both goals in DePauw's 2-1 victory over Denison on Saturday, moving him in a tie for second on the all-time career scoring list.
For the Tigers, they took another important NCAC win, moving to 10-3-2 overall and 5-2 in the conference with just two games remaining in the regular season.
Gonzalez now has a team-high 13 goals on the season and 47 career goals. He worked extra hard for his first goal of the game, which came at 7:13. Gaining the team possession after a slide tackle, Gonzalez cut to the middle of the field while Jonathan Wheeler found him with the cross.
His second goal broke a 1-1 tie in the second half as he broke free from a defender at the 73:32 mark. Denison's lone goal came toward the end of the second half when Henry Pohlman scored off a rebound at 39:04.
DePauw outshot Denison 17-7 and both teams took two corners. Harrison Glover made two saves to take the win in net.
Denison drops to 5-8-2 overall and 2-4-1 in conference. DePauw solidifies their fourth place standing with the win and will travel to Wabash on Tuesday.
