E.J. Moore scored an improbable goal with :00.8 remaining as the DePauw men's soccer team shocked everyone by pulling out a 1-0 win over Thomas More on Thursday.
The winning goal came about when DePauw was awarded a corner kick with time quickly expiring. Rushing to get the kick off and the ball in the air, the ball kicked around once before finding Moore who stood on the right side of the box. Jonathan Wheeler was credited with the assist.
After some discussion, the referees confirmed the goal and put :00.8 on the clock. Thomas More kicked it off, and that was the game.
The teams matched up well up to that point. However, DePauw led the offensive attack, outshooting the Saints 13-1 and not allowing them a shot in the second half.
Harrison Glover took the win in net, despite not recording a save. DePauw took eight corners to Thomas More's two and committed more fouls at 10-7.
DePauw improves to 5-2-2, and Thomas More drops to 5-6. DePauw returns to NCAC action Saturday when they host Kenyon.
