Tampa, Fla. - DePauw ran into a tough Union (N.Y.) College squad as the Dutchmen handed the Tigers a 22-5 loss in a game played at the University of Tampa. The Tigers dropped to 3-8 on the season, while Union improved to 5-1.
Union scored the game's first three goals and never trailed. The Dutchmen held a 3-1 lead after the first period and 9-3 at the half. Union then expanded the lead by outscoring the Tigers 13-2 in the second half.
Ben Davis led DePauw with two goals and one assist with Ben Sherman adding a team-high two assists. John Edmonds paced Union with four goals and two assists with Jordan Cooper leading the squad with seven assists.
Chris Kelly paced the Dutchmen with five ground balls and Josh Willis caused six turnovers.
Union held a 48-28 edge in shots including 31-18 on goal and the Dutchmen won 18 of 31 faceoffs and led, 40-26, in ground balls. DePauw committed 23 turnovers to Union's 20.
DePauw returns to action on Tuesday, April 3, when it travels to Crawfordsville for a 6 p.m. North Coast Athletic Conference showdown with Wabash.
