Hanover, Ind. - DePauw outscored Hanover, 6-1, in the third quarter and moved to 3-2 on the season following a 15-8 win at Hanover. The Panthers dropped to 0-5.
A tight battle early, the game included four ties and three lead changes before William Dorger, Will Roberts and Ben Davis each scored in a span of 1:12 to give the Tigers a 7-4 advantage. Hanover's Bret Schell finished the first-half scoring with 4:32 remaining.
DePauw pulled away in the third as Quinn Roddy and Lewis Andrews took advantage of man-up situations and scored within 41 seconds of one another. The Panthers countered before the Tigers closed the period with two goals from Dorger and one each from Steen Jorgensen and Patrick Durnien.
Davis and Dorger each scored three in the win with Jack Richey and Davis each collecting a pair of assists. In all, 10 Tigers scored. Schell and Dallas Fonner each scored two for the hosts, while Gage Hafl and Noah King each assisted on two.
Joe Garvey won 16 of 26 faceoffs for the Tigers and led with five ground balls. Schell paced the Panthers with nine ground balls.
Charlie Robson recorded five saves for DePauw with Noah Dubrava had 10 for Hanover.
The Tigers outshot Hanover, 44-19 and had a 24-21 advantage in ground balls. DePauw committed 14 turnovers to the Panthers' 24.
DePauw opens North Coast Athletic Conference play with a 2 p.m. game at Denison on Saturday.
