Tigers Open NCAC Road Weekend with Loss to Terriers

Hiram, Ohio - Host Hiram shot 51.5 percent from the floor and outrebounded DePauw, 47-28, on the way to an 82-64 North Coast Athletic Conference win over the Tigers. DePauw dropped to 13-7 overall and 7-6 in the NCAC, while Hiram improved to 10-10 overall and 7-6 in conference play.

The Terriers led at the half, 41-24, before DePauw was back to within 12 at 52-40 with 13:13 left. Hiram scored the next nine and DePauw got no closer than 14 the rest of the way.

Matt Mahlke scored a career-high 15 points and Nolan Ginther also added 15 in the loss. Sherman Dean III led Hiram with 32 points, while Christian Crespo and Antonio McQueen each scored 12. McQueen added 11 rebounds in the win.

DePauw travels to Allegheny tomorrow for a 2 p.m. contest.
