Lauren Thomas was named DePauw University head field hockey coach in April 2018.

Career Highlights

    • For three seasons served as the assistant coach at Ohio Wesleyan University (2015-18)
    • As an assistant coach at OWU, Thomas also served as a committee advisor to the Ohio Wesleyan Athletic Council and the Student-Athlete Advisor Committee.
    • For the 2014 season, Thomas was the assistant at DePauw, where she helped head coach Gina Wills and the Tigers to a 16-3 finish
    • Assisted in event and game management while working at DePauw in 2014
    • Worked as a skills instructor at Elmira softball clinic for two years

    Academic and Athletic Highlights

    • Earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Elmira
    • Earned a Master of Science in recreation and sport management from Indiana State University 
    • Four-year letter winner for the varsity field hockey team at Elmira
      • All four seasons as starting goalie
      • Two-time Empire 8 All-Conference selection, earning second-team honors in 2012 and honorable mention in 2013
      • Ranks second in career minutes played with 3511 and saves with 652
      • Ranks third with a career save percentage of .780
    • While at Elmira Thomas was the president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Board
    • In 2013 she was the student-athlete representative at the NCAA Leadership Forum
    • Served as a representative for the Empire 8 Athletic Conference Leadership Summit and acted as the class of 2014 fundraising committee chair
