Greencastle, Ind.- DePauw University senior forward Kate Milner ( St. Louis, Mo. /John Burroughs School) has been named the North Coast Athletic Conference Field Hockey Athlete of the Week for her performance in the Tigers' back-to-back victories.
On Saturday, Oct. 12, Milner scored the game-winning goal in the 2-0 shutout over Oberlin College.
She continued her dominance in the striking circle on Sunday, Oct. 13, against Allegheny. Milner off a pass from Alexa Steil tallied the tying goal midway through the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Milner reversed roles and found Steil to put the Tigers up 2-1 in the 50th minute of play. With less than a minute left and down a field player, she passed the ball to Maddie DeAscentis off a corner penalty to help put DePauw up 3-1.
With two goals and two assists, Milner played an essential role in the Tigers' success this past weekend.
DePauw is on the road for the next three games and faces Kenyon College on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m.
