Greencastle, Ind. - Kate Milner's goal early in the second half was the difference as DePauw took a 1-0 North Coast Athletic Conference win over visiting Wooster. DePauw moved to 3-4 overall and 3-2 in NCAC play, while Wooster dropped to 7-2 overall and 3-2 in the conference.
The teams battled through a scoreless first half before Milner delivered the game's lone goal just 3:40 into the second half. The Tigers' first shutout of the season came on the strength of a defense that included 10 saves from Hannah Metzger and a defensive save from Sarah Simon. Nine of those defensive stops came in the second half. Katie Shideler stopped eight DePauw shots for the Fighting Scots.
DePauw outshot Wooster, 15-12, but the Fighting Scots held an 11-9 edge in shots on goal. Wooster also led in penalty corners, 13-6.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, September 29, when they travel to Wittenberg for an 11 a.m. NCAC contest.
