Tigers  NCAC Tournament Bound After Home Finale Victory

Greencastle, Ind. -- The DePauw field hockey team secured a spot in the NCAC Tournament after defeating Wooster 2-0 in their home finale on Sunday.

The Tigers received first half goals from Paige Berliner and Alexa Steil to secure the win. Reilly Bruce assisted on the first and Grace Waldman assisted on the second.

For Berliner, that was her sixth of the year. Steil tallied her second, both of which came from wins this weekend at home.

After an 9-0 win against Oberlin on Saturday, goalies Hannah Metzger and Sarah Foye again combined for the shutout. Metzger started and played 59:17 in the cage to tally the win.

DePauw improves to 10-6 overall and 8-4 in the NCAC, while Wooster drops to 8-9 and 5-7.

After play this weekend the four teams in the conference tournament will be DePauw, Kenyon, Denison and Wittenberg. However, the seeding is still to be determined with games left to play in the regular season.

DePauw will travel to Wittenberg on Thursday and Earlham on Saturday to conclude their regular season.
